At InterMediation Foundation Nigeria (IMN), we recognize that minors in prison are some of the most vulnerable members of society, and they deserve compassion, guidance, and opportunities to rebuild their futures.
Our prison services for minors are designed to provide holistic care that addresses not only their immediate needs but also their long-term reintegration into society.
Why Prison Services for Minors Are Important
Young offenders are often products of poverty, lack of education, abuse, or neglect. Without proper intervention, many of them risk falling into a cycle of repeated incarceration and hopelessness. By offering specialized services, IMN helps to break this cycle and creates pathways for transformation and positive societal contribution.
Our Approach
We work in collaboration with correctional authorities, community leaders, and social workers to design and deliver programs tailored to the unique needs of minors in detention. Our services include:
- Counseling & Psychosocial Support – Helping young inmates heal from trauma, build self-esteem, and foster resilience.
- Education & Literacy Programs – Providing basic education and vocational skills training to prepare them for life beyond prison.
- Spiritual & Moral Guidance – Supporting character development through values-based mentorship.
- Rehabilitation & Reintegration Support – Assisting minors in preparing for life after incarceration, including job placements and family reunification.
- Legal Aid & Advocacy – Partnering with legal professionals to ensure minors’ rights are protected and fair justice is served.
Our Impact
